The Townsville Art Society Inc at Jezzine Barracks, Mitchell Street, North Ward, Townsville was one of my favourite places on my June journey between Brisbane and Cairns.  Paintings, prints, cards, pottery, woodwork and an amazing variety of local artists’ work.

Of particular interest were many woodwork pieces by local wood turner Peter Foxwell especially some wooden eggs show casing various Australian timbers. I note there is cuurent exhibition on of his works – until 4th August.

There was also works of Donna Maloney a mixed media and watercolour artist.  This “Art at Jezzine” provided lots to look at and consider – a definite place to spend time at while in Townsville.
