14th April at Baycourt 2013 –  great soloists

Another full house at Baycourt with the Tauranga Symphony and Tauranga Civic Choir.  First half was a little disappointing, apart from the exceptional singing of Tauranga tenor Chase Douglas and Rororua soprano Elisha Fa’l-Hulton.  Comments from others ranged from ‘not as good as usual’, ‘a little slow’, and I think it mainly did not live up to the ‘proms’ atmosphere.

The second half – stated as the ‘fun half’ included some singalongs and Beethoven 5th restructured into a comedic race.  The best part of the whole show for me was the duet by the two soloists of the beautiful ‘Time to say goodbuy’.
