On 5th August 2015 Sing Yuh Liao presented a very informative talk on Chinese Calligraphy at the Tauranga Art Gallery.  This was one of the many Art in the Afternoon talks organised by the Friends of the Gallery (of which I am the Treasurer) and can be attended by Friends members for the cost of a gold coin.

Sing Yuh Lioa carefully explained the paper, brushes and ink and the basic characters of her work and how she had come to learn thie brush painting.  She had many completed works with her including fans and scrolls.  She happily encouraged people at the afternoon to try their hand at this ancient art.  Another interesting time at the Tauranga Art Gallery.
