Artspace in Mackay which I visited in June 2016  had a selection of interesting contemporary exhibitions, educational and child friendly exhibits, jewellery and a very good dining area with lovely outdoor area for children.

This is in a beautiful building which in itself is a sculpture by Michael Rayner, Cox Rayner Architects from Brisbane.
