Market places are a great place to see craft works and local artists.  For me the ones that stood out at the Brisbane South Bank markets were the animal sketchs of Eliza Rose.  The most beautiful Australian animal portraits such as koala, wombat in the lovely pen and ink style but which are actually very very fine watercolour works.   In her words  “Whimsical Watercolours for Wonderful People”.
