If visiting Taupo you should take the opportunity to see the range of artwork by Garry Ross at Whetu Place, Nukuhau, Taupo.  A self-taught painter his works range from lovely flowers to landscapes and animal scenes.  I regret not purchasing one of a row of cows staring out of the painting so reminiscent of what you find on a farm. I found many works of interest and eagerly anticipate another visit to this home gallery and further discussions with Garry.  A gallery not to be missed when in Taupo.
