Visiting the new national centre for glass art in Whanganui is a very hot experience.  That’s because you walk in on a balcony overlooking the actual artworks being made and furnaces in front of you.  Its a great insight and fascinating experience as long as you can stand the heat.  This type of experience is usually charged for but is free admission at the Whanganui glassworks.

And then there is the shop of beautiful art sculptures and glass art produced by the various artists using these premises.  Well worth a visit.
