While on a Friends of the Tauranga Gallery Art Bus Trip to the Waikato I took the time to visit the exhibitions and shop next to the Waikato Museum and saw a very interesting exhibition entitled ‘Fieldays No. 8 Wire National Art Award’.  There was a wide variety of wire sculptures and general artworks which very creative and brillantly made.  I particularly liked Sharon Watson’s piece ‘In the claws of a bald eagle’.  Again this is a gallery and shop well worth taking the time to look around.
