Another sunny day in Te Awamutu and I went for a drive to see the neighbouring towns and what art they had to offer – and came across the local Pirongia Crafts Market 9am – 2pm in the Memorial Hall and grounds. This was a great collection of stalls selling woodturning, hand made cards and stationery, jewellery, fundraising confectionery, books, baby clothes, hand made soaps, lavender products, home made jams and preserves and soo much more …. quails eggs for one thing.
Opposite the Memorial Hall was Village Saleyards with a great selection of NZ garden art, gifts, cards and some very nice new Zealand prints and paintings representative of local artists.
Plenty of cafes for a meal or drink – a lovely way to spend a sunny Sunday.
