The recent exhibition of Susan Harrison-Tustain a celebration of colours seen in Auckland and viewed by me at ‘Design on James’, Te Puna, Tauranga in October 2017 was a crowded room of her delightful paintings and art lovers in awe.

As Susan states her paintings all have a message and listening to her tell the story behind the artwork adds another level of understanding and appreciation of the time and effort that goes into each artwork.  Some oil works with 24 carat gold leaf & palladium leaf were especially captivating.

A range of works was available for purchase including the ‘sister’ work to the one I have Adelaide d’Orleans watercolour on hot-pressed paper –  ‘This softly scented rose covered our fence each year with beautiful trusses of delicate buds and the open blooms which were like crushed silk tutus.’
