homage by candlelight

A wooden relief sculpture purchased from the Mercury Bay Art Escape exhibition in the Coromondel. In the words of the artist “This artwork is homage to an artist who, like it or not, has had a great influence on the arts or our time, and to a particular artwork of his which was not very well received”.
The woods include Walnut, Totora and Rimu and I think it is a piece of kiwiana with the utilisation of No. 8 wire. This is an interesting and wonderful piece to have on the wall.
