In the artist’s own words “Gold and blue are the predominant colours of the dry South Island region of Central Otago, captured here in this autumn scene in the remote Manuherikia Valley. A corrugated iron woolshed is the focal point, with the Hawkdun Range and Mt St Bathans providing a backdrop to this classic rural scene. This painting was voted one of the top ‘people’s choice’ works at the Tauranga Society of Artists’ exhibition.”
Wonderful detail and the ability of the artist to draw you into the painting, seeing more and more as you spend time with it.
